ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE
The proximity of the Białowieża Forest meant that the city was “released” from the obligation to care for the environment. The result is unsatisfactory air quality in the city, which does not have a positive effect on the health and quality of life of the inhabitants. The condition of nature is also unsatisfactory. Hajnówka should be immaculate, while large green areas are neglected, there are no specialized plantings, and there is no passion for maintaining the aesthetics of green areas. There are no plans to protect the climate, no green and blue infrastructure.

GREENERY IN THE URBAN SPACE
Time to change that. We want to introduce a number of solutions to the city’s architecture that will improve the comfort of its residents. These are, for example, parklets, i.e. small enclaves of greenery for pedestrians, which are located in places previously reserved for cars, e.g. parking lots. There will also be green bus stops, green roofs, pocket parks, rain gardens, honey meadows, city hives and insect houses.
We want to arrange the greenery based on native plant species, consulting experts in nature therapy.
We want to make Hajnówka a “green” city, convenient for pedestrians and cyclists, with green areas easily accessible to all and a friendly communication system.

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES

The RES consulting sector will also develop in the city, the RES Demonstrator and a new specialist class in the Vocational School Complex dealing with RES installations will be created. There will also be numerous events and actions in the field of environmental education.
