"A witch from Dziedzinka"

Dozens of students took part in a city game dedicated to Simon Kossak

Four tasks, four stations and sixty students from primary schools in Hajnówka. Topic? Simona Kossak’s life and nature activities. It was not easy, we came over a lot around the city and we had to learn to cooperate – the students admitted.

The strength of the rebellious women on the example of the personality of Simona Kossak “saved in the project” Hajnówka ReNewal – Green Transformation “. It was attended by students of grades IV -VIII from Hajnówka primary schools – a total of about 60 people. The game began and ended in the project office at Piłsudskiego St. 8. I am very pleased to welcome you in the project office. We are working here on many activities, which make Hajnówka a good place to live also for you , for example, places where you can spend time. I don't know how much you had the opportunity to meet the figure of Simona Kossak, who was able to talk beautifully about the Białowieża Forest, a place known throughout the country and outside.

Magdalena Chirko, head of the Department of Development of the City of Hajnówka

Hajnówka already has a tradition of city games. One of them took place, for example, last year on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of granting city rights. The students divided into groups, they had to face a total of four tasks that waited for them in four places in Hajnówka. Two of them are the aforementioned project office, and two more are the seat of the municipal library and the Hajnówka Culture Center. So there was quite a long walk around the city. Before they set off, the organizer of the city game outlined the figure of Simona Kossak.

We want you, even if you leave, just like I did it, to come back here. Imagine that Simon did the opposite. She decided to leave Kraków from which she came from. In this city, as the granddaughter of the famous grandfather, the daughter of a famous father, even having a famous aunt, poet Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, had "overwhelmed". She couldn't do anything she wanted there. It wasn't easy there. So she decided to leave, at the beginning it was to be the Bieszczady Mountains, but finally she came to Białowieża. She loved the Białowieża Forest, which you have at your fingertips. If we think of nature and animals, we become better ourselves.

She also added that Simon Kossak first pointed out that as people we are neither better nor more important than the surrounding nature. She argued that animals have emotions like us. In activities for nature protection, she was uncompromising. She wrote, recorded broadcasts and films. Do young people associate the figure of Simona Kossak? Some yes, others don’t.

We only found out about her here

Boys from Primary School No. 1

The name was associated with several students, and one even has a book of this famous nature at home. The young meticulously performed tasks, although some turned out to be a challenge. You had to adapt to the pace of others and work well with each other.

You did a good job. You walked a lot of kilometers to perform tasks. You had to get along and integrate. Some of you have shown a unique talent for uniting the group.

Anna Bowtruczuk, teacher from Primary School No. 2 in Hajnówka

These students were honored. However, all participants received symbolic awards. This is not the end of events under the “Hajnówka is a woman” project.
