The author’s curriculum for additional classes in computer science in high school is almost ready. The purchase of teaching aids for the studio is also underway. Classes in both schools are the next projects of the “Hajnówka ReNewal – Green Transformation” project. They are implemented by the Hajnówka Poviat with substantive support from the Białystok University of Technology.

At the moment, purchases of teaching aids are underway, which will complement the equipment of the laboratory in II LO with DNJB. Work on the curriculum is also coming to an end. We will want to pass it on to the polytechnic for an opinion.

The classes will involve a total of 60 students from the Secondary School No. 2 with Additional Learning of the Belarusian Language in Hajnówka. The first grade group will learn robotics, the second grade will be graphics, and the third grade will be programming. This school year, the classes will be a pilot. However, if they meet with a positive opinion of students, they will be included in the framework curriculum. This is an offer mainly for young people learning computer science at an advanced level, but also for those who are willing.

The project was presented to students and parents. It has aroused great interest among young people.

Classes will be held once a week for two hours. Young people will learn the secrets of robotics, graphics and programming in a modernly equipped workshop. As part of the project, the school will receive: two additional computers (so that each of the 20-person group has its own workstation), educational kits with a self-assembly robot (one for each participant), graphic tablets, a desktop visualizer (and an interactive touch monitor). Classes will start in the second semester.

However, this is not the end of educational innovations in schools. A new subject will appear in the technical high school in the field of construction – students will gain knowledge and skills in the field of installation and commissioning of renewable energy systems. This subject will start in the 2023/2024 school year.

Similarly to the project in the Secondary School No. 2, an original teaching program will be created with the support of the Bialystok University of Technology. The poviat is also trying to equip the workshop. School teachers, on the other hand, acquire qualifications to teach the subject at postgraduate studies. The management and teachers of the Vocational School Complex, looking for inspiration to create a new workshop, established cooperation with the Construction and Geodetic Technical School in Białystok, which educates technicians of renewable energy equipment and systems. The result of this was a study visit to this facility

We saw how the workshop works, what equipment the school has. This will allow us to prepare for the tender for the purchase of equipment for the new RES workshop. The tender will be announced early next year.
