We have a meeting with the residents of the block of flats at 29 Batorego Street, where the third and final mural will be created as part of the “Hajnówka ReNewal – Green Transformation” project. It will be performed, like the others, by Mona Tusz, an artist from Silesia. She met with residents to present her proposals for topics and hear their expectations. Those interested gathered under a tree in the middle of the yard, some sat on a bench.

Our block is located on the road to Białowieża, it is very visible, and the idea is that what will be built here should not scare people, but attract attention – another resident.
Mona Tusz presented her sample works to the residents, thanks to which they were sure that their block would not be “scary”. Ultimately, interested parties chose three of the topics given by the artist. These were: wild animals, an alder forest and a herbarium. The first one was rejected in order not to repeat the topic. Wild animals, in large numbers, have already visited the clinic on Piłsudskiego Street. The flower meadow, which also appeared among the proposals, is the leitmotif of the mural on the block of flats at 4 Parkowa Street. So a herbarium was built. Its center will include mullein or St. John’s wort – this has not been decided yet. There will also be other herbs, e.g. cornflower, nettle, wormwood and evening primrose. In terms of colors, the mural is intended to resemble an old postcard. So they will be subdued and there will be some greenery.
The artist agreed with the residents to send them preliminary sketches of the mural for viewing. According to the schedule, the work is to be ready in November. The work will last a month.
